This was a reallly good book!
This year I read the first book from the Ranger’s Apprentice Book 1 – The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan. I enjoyed this book enormously. While it is set in a mythical medieval place it deals with many issues that are current and the themes are very relatable such as friendship, bullying, growing up and good versus evil. At the start of the book, the main character and his group of friends all orphans are preparing for the choosing. Will has his heart set on going to battle school and becoming a knight. Instead he is chosen to be a Ranger’s apprentice and is set on the path of a dangerous adventure, risking his life and becoming an unlikely hero.
